A Bamboo-utiful Desktop

Here at The Human Solution, we like to give you options. We’re always looking for ways to make your office space as ergonomic as it is stylish. In doing so, sometimes things can get lost in the shuffle. An option here or there may get a little neglected in favor of more flashy counterparts. Case in point, one of my favorite desktops – the UPLIFT Premium Bamboo. Some people may think of bamboo as rickety tubes held together by string, or worse, panda food, but believe me when I say that this desktop has a lot more going for it than meets the eye.

See, our Premium Bamboo tops have something like a secret superpower. Unlike the lamps and flooring you may be used to, our desktops are made with a younger Moso bamboo, which actually acts as a natural air filter for the room. Soaking up small amounts of pollution and creating a cleaner breathing area. Pretty cool right? No? What if I told you it’s also super durable. Would that sway things a bit?

With our standard UPLIFT Desks, the laminate top is 1” thick. The vertical grain core we use for the Premium Bamboo top makes it 1.5” thick, giving it not only added durability, but also a visual distinction from our other desktop options. The contrast between the darkened core and the lighter edges makes this a very versatile top for office color schemes.

I have a bit of a soft spot for the bamboo top. I think it’s beautiful, elegant, and, even with its visual variations, still somehow simple. The natural beauty seems to take over even the most modern work spaces, creating a pleasing juxtaposition. Don’t just take my word for it, come on by our store in Austin if you can and take a look for yourself. I think you’ll leave a full fledged Bamboo-liever* like myself.

*Okay, that may have been too far
